  • a broader vision

A Broader Vision is an $8-million campaign that will finance St. Patrick’s first regulation-size athletic field, support infrastructural development on the Foxhall Campus, and strengthen our capital base through the reduction of debt.

UPDATE: As of December 14, we have raised over $7.3 million
    of our $8-million goal.

  • The Core of St. Patrick’s
We began as a parish Nursery School in 1956. We started with six children, from six families but have evolved into a thriving day school with 500 students from Nursery through Grade 8.

In our broadest vision, students who enter St. Patrick’s in Nursery School will graduate from St. Patrick’s as high school seniors. This campaign is the first step toward that goal.

“In terms of outdoor space, we need a place to gather to celebrate the gifts, the engagement, the hard work, and the accomplishments of our children. To have that space, that athletic space, will be a tremendous addition to the
    St. Patrick’s community in full.”

Peter A. Barrett, Head of School

  • The St. Patrick’s Legacy
While our long-term goal is an ambitious one, we are emboldened by the accomplishments of previous generations of families, alumni, donors, and volunteers. Since 1977, when we began uniting our Nursery School and Elementary School classes in a single location—the Whitehaven Campus—St. Patrick’s has continued to grow and change.

Today, St. Patrick’s is home to 500 students from Nursery to Grade 8 and boasts light-filled instructional spaces, a Gymnasium and Performance Center, a stunning Elementary School library, and the renovated and expanded MacArthur Campus for our Grades 7 and 8 students.

“St. Patrick’s strives to provide our children with broad and holistic experiences. The academic program is second to none. The spiritual component is incredibly warm and welcoming. Even the parents feel nurtured here. The new Foxhall athletic field will significantly improve St. Patrick’s ability to educate the whole child – academically, spiritually, and physically.”

  • Now is Our Time
The Friends of St. Patrick’s purchased a 17-acre property at 1801 Foxhall Road in 2004. Guided by our community’s vision of St. Patrick’s as a Nursery through Grade 12 school, this group of dedicated parents donated to the Day School 9.2 acres of that site - that we now refer to as the “Foxhall Campus” - to us.

This remarkable expression of trust calls us to be responsible stewards of the land and the dream we share. A Broader Vision marks the first of several steps that will allow us to move toward our greatest vision for St. Patrick’s. Our immediate aim is the construction of a regulation-size athletic field on the Foxhall Campus.

“The St. Patrick’s community is yearning for even more opportunities to come together and connect. This playing field isn’t just a place for us to play home games of lacrosse and soccer; this field will serve as a hub for our parents and students to bond and build relationships. This field, specifically, will help center our community and galvanize our athletic programs.”

Dr. William Booker and Ms. Sonya White

  • Campaign Goals
A Broader Vision is an $8-million effort that will finance:

St. Patrick’s first regulation-size athletic field
Road improvements mandated by the District as St. Patrick’s establishes its presence on the Foxhall Campus
Debt reduction and the building of our capital base
Planning and design for further development of the Foxhall Campus
"Our family has been attached to St. Patrick's for 18 years, since our oldest son began Nursery School in 1992. During that time, St. Patrick's has grown and changed and become a local force for the finest Nursery, Elementary, and Middle School education in the metropolitan area. As alumni parents, we take great joy in continuing to be a part of the magic of St. Patrick's."

    Katherine and David Bradley
